JOHN HELMKAMP
Bringing an entrepreneurial approach to finance and accounting
John began his varied and diverse career as an accountant with Price Waterhouse. After returning to Graduate school to complete his MBA, he worked for Amoco Oil Corporation reporting to the board of directors through its financial controls function. During this time he also taught at Loyola University as an undergraduate and graduate instructor of accounting and finance. After his work with Amoco and Loyola, he switched to an entrepreneurial focus, founding the Arlington Bicycle Company, a retail bicycle shop, in the Chicagoland area. After selling the business and moving east, John returned to the finance field in his current position as CFO and Controller of The Clarion Group.
“Financial reporting should be all about enabling better decision making.”
